So, since I'v essentially been doing more or less the same thing for the last week during my nutrition cleanse and exercise foundation phase, it seemed silly to keep posting updates that essentially said "ditto." So, I think I'll move to weekly updates for now that share what I've been doing and how it's changed.

I am now 2 weeks into a 3 week nutrition detox based on Dr. Mark Hyman's Ultrameabolism approach to nutrigenomics. Not really feeling any difference, but at least it's help clean up my eating habits a lot. One week to go.

Exercise: Alternating days of mixed cardio and light bodyweight strength

Work Flow - More time in woods, scheduling calls for when I'm out walking. Looking for bluetooth headset that works in wind

Thoughts & Observations: Busy client day today, but glad detox headaches are easing and energy is good.

Exercise: Rest day, bigger exercise day coming tomorrow

Nutrition:

  • Breakfast - Same as yesterday
  • Snack -  same
  • Lunch - same + two fresh peppers
  • Snack - same
  • Dinner - sauteed zucchini and tomatos
  • Supplements -
Work Flow - Client meetings required driving and big chunks of time, working on integrating more phone consults, that'll allow me to to do them when I'm moving my body outside

Life Flow - Spent time with daughter and wife in the afternoon

Mindset - About to meditate before sleeping

Other - Got name of Myofascial release physical therapist to contact, excited

Thoughts & Observations: Damn, can't even keep this up for 3 days in a row, LOL! Missed posting this lat night, but it's for Weds

Exercise: Mixed cardio

Body alignment: 25 minute myofascial massage

Nutrition:

  • Breakfast - same as esterday
  • Snack -  peach
  • Lunch - Organic chicken and salad
  • Snack - soy shake with almond butter, flax oil and berries
  • Dinner -
  • Supplements - detox and multi
Work Flow: Put taking care of body and tigger points first and worked writing around it. Didn't accomplish all the writing I wanted, but that's okay. Also signed up for HighRiseHQ online contact/workflow management, imported gmail contacts and started stracking tasks. Very cool

Life Flow - Spent morning and afternoon with my daughter

Mindset - breathing and visualizing on patio at sunset

Thoughts & Observations: Head's getting better, but neck is still tight, getting used to nutrition

Exercise: 40 minutes mixed cardio, light calisthenics, restorative yoga and neuromuscular self-stretches

Nutrition:

  • Breakfast - soy milk, berries, flax seed shake
  • Snack -  apple
  • Lunch - organic salad with turkey breast, brown rice
  • Snack - soy shake with berries, flax oil, almond butter
  • Dinner - grilled apsaragus, strawberries
  • Supplements - detox supps, + C, D, qoQ10
Work Flow - alternating blocks of writing/phone

Life Flow - Started day with exercise, spend afternoon with daughter, walked to town and back for dinner

Mindset - Breathing exercises, meditation b4 bedtime

Day two on detox nutrition.,,ughhh!

Not a radical change in eating for me, but I guess enough to cause massive headache that kept me awake all night and stayed most of the day. Mantra...This, too, shall pass. :-)

Nutrition:

  • Breakfast - Shake with soymilk, organic berries, ground flax seeds and raw almond butter
  • Snack - banana
  • Lunch - Salad with olive oil, lemon and grilled chicken
  • Snack - Pint of bluberries
  • Dinner - Brown rice, chicken, broccoli
  • Supplements - a bunch, added vitamin C to help with "withdrawal" headache
Exercise - Are you friggin' kidding me? Not after no sleep and a screaming headache that's still lingering. Afraid to move my head to quickly. Big plans for tomorrow, though (fingers crossed) This is why in today's video on http://jonathanfields.com, I said I didn't have any major fitness/exertion plans during this phase of my nutritional framework.

Mindset - tough day, but still totally committed to the comeback.

So, here's today's status update:

Exercise: Hike in the woods for an hour

Nutrition: Day 1 of nutrigenomics-based 21 day detox protocol from Ultrametabolism

  • Breakfast: soy milk, strawberry, blueberry smoothie
  • Snack: organic apple
  • Lunch: fresh salad with grilled chicken, olive oil and lemo
  • Snack: pint of blueberries
  • Dinner: Grilled vegetables & chicken breast, orange
  • Supplements: Metagenics packs
Workflow: Instead of writing today's post, I filmed it while walking in the woods and posted as video. Unfortunately, it took hours to edit, render, upload and convert, so I've gotta keep working on this, lol!
